Meghan Freeman- Co-CEO Illuminate XR

Meghan Freeman is an education executive and Co-CEO of Illuminate XR, an immersive learning company focused on advancing education, workforce development, and professional training through extended reality technologies. Her work centers on preparing students and learners for a rapidly evolving world by integrating artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and immersive technologies into instructional design and learning systems.

At Illuminate XR, Freeman leads initiatives that use AI and VR to augment and support student learning, with an emphasis on future-ready skills, adaptability, and real-world application. Her work focuses on ensuring learners are prepared to navigate technological change, complex problem-solving environments, and emerging career pathways across education, business, and healthcare sectors.

Freeman previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Elite Academic Academy, a public charter school in California. During her tenure, the school was recognized as a California Distinguished School for closing achievement gaps. The organization maintained a 98 percent teacher retention rate and demonstrated strong financial and operational governance, with zero audit exceptions reported year over year.

She led the development of Elite X, a proprietary professional development framework designed to support educators through personalized and competency-based instructional practices. The framework and its outcomes were documented in the Elite X white paper, which outlines approaches to instructional leadership, professional learning, and scalable academic systems.

Earlier in her career, Freeman was named Teacher of the Year in 2011 for her contributions to instructional excellence.
